Worship Services

Weekly worship service is on Sundays from Sept. thru May, is at 8:45 am and 10:30 am. Summer Worship is at 10:00 am, Memorial Day thru Labor Day. We also have other special worship services including holidays.

Come as you are. We have no “formal” dress code. Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. Some of our members do dress-up with suits, and dresses, and fancy hats. Some come in jeans and t-shirt. As long as what you have on is not offensive or revealing, what matters most is not what you are wearing, but that you are with us in Christ.

A typical worship service at a Bashford United Methodist Church may include a greeting and opening prayer, time for people to greet each other, scripture readings, silent prayer and meditation, an offering, the Lord's Prayer, a children's message, the sermon, special music and hymns, and a closing prayer. We print words and responses in the bulletins to help those who are unfamiliar with United Methodist worship.

Communion is served the first Sunday of each month. All are invited to celebrate communion, but you can choose whether or not you wish to participate.

Holy Communion

Communion is served on the first Sunday of each month during the worship service. In the United Methodist Church we practice open communion. All persons are invited to receive the communion elements. There are no restrictions of membership, denomination, or faith. We understand Holy Communion to be a symbol of God's loving grace extended to all persons.
